  Peter Eller

As a Bulgarian native who has lived in France and Germany and now in the United States, Peter Eller’s artistic career has had a myriad of diverse influences. He was trained in classical Greko-Roman Art and the Renaissance. In the U.S. where he received his Masters of Fine Arts Degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, he was inspired by the Abstract Expressionism of Hofmann, DeKooning, and Jasper Johns. In his oil paintings and mixed media, the basic visual elements of the artistic language—i.e., color, line, shape, texture, and volume—are the matter with which he transforms images of the reality to express their concept. What is the Art Work? Does it remind you of ordinary things, actions, memory, and some idea? Can you connect it to some idea how life is, about time, memory, death, politics, sex, space, language, sanity, dreams, chaos, aesthetics? Does it “speak” to you? Does it make sense? Is it like your life?
