  Edward Sherman

Edward interprets his subjects in loose, spontaneous brushstrokes that convey a sense of movement and life in rich, vibrant colors with a slightly distorted perspective that take the viewer just beyond reality. He strives to keep his subjects constantly evolving and feels his work, as well as his life, is best achieved with the right amount of discipline and heart. "Art seems to come alive when it is not too carefully controlled, as does life." He treats his figurative paintings in the same way, creating designs through light and shadow, seeing the human form also as landscape.

The artist attended San Diego State University and graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, studying with renowned artists such as Zhaoming Wu, Craig Nelson, Randall Sexton and Chuck Pyle. He has recently travelled to Brazil, Paris and Indonesia for further inspiration.
