  Katherine Lemke-Waste

Katherine Lemke-Waste is a creative realist painter specializing in watercolor. She works with a series of color glazes on handmade Arches paper from France. Because of the thickness of this paper, it absorbs more pigment, which is one of the reasons her paintings have thick rich color. Her paints are the finest quality, made by Windsor-Newton in England. The artist received both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in art from Cal State Sacramento. She also completed additional coursework at the Rhode Island School of Design, Chico Art Center, and San Diego State University. Lemke-Waste’s playful subjects are accurate and objective descriptions of the ordinary observable world. Positive thinking is evident in the full range of her subject matter. Her paintings are truthful and accurate depictions of contemporary life. Her artwork is in major private and corporate collections.
