  Bryan Mark Taylor

Bryan Mark Taylor is a skilled West Coast Landscape painter, having spent the majority of his career depicting both the northern provinces of Italy and the Rocky Mountain region. Since moving to California, Bryan has connected with the plein air movement allowing him to develop a greater sensitivity to his subject matter and capture a truer sense of light, texture and distance. Time spent outdoors observing and pondering nature has become an essential part of the artist’s creative process. Through the process of placing each stroke, he wishes to convey emotions and ideas, endowing the subject with an awareness of place as well as a poetic and spiritual mood.

Bryan was born in Portland, Oregon. He received a BA in Visual Arts from Brigham Young University in 2001 and a MFA from the Academy of Art University in 2005. He has had numerous shows including a Two-Person Show at the Bakersfield Museum (CA) in 2005. He received an award at the San Luis Obispo Plein Air competition in 2005 also.

“I believe the beauty of nature can inspire and uplift the human heart and mind”.

“Although there are great challenges and difficulties in the world, I have found that stopping to contemplate the quiet beauty around us can bring moments of inner peace and joy”.
