Anton Arkhipov was born and raised in Moscow. He descends from several generations of artists. His father, Michail Arkhipov was a well known dissident artist and had a profound influence on his life. Showing early signs of talent, he enrolled at the Surikov College of Fine Arts in Moscow and graduated as one the top students in his class. He began showing his paintings in government sponsored exhibitions until 1987. At that time, he also began to show nontraditional work in “underground” exhibitions with a young group of artists.
His work soon became recognized in countries in Western Europe, Italy, England and Spain where he had several exhibitions. In 1990, Arkhipov moved to the United States where he continues to pursue his quest of representing humanity through symbolism, alluring texture and stunning color. Arkhipov's paintings celebrate the joy of life. His work is shown in many galleries across the country and found in private collections around the world.
